21–27 February: Bali, Shadow Yoga Experienced Teachers’ Retreat

We invite you to join us at the annual Shadow Yoga Teachers Retreat for Experienced Teachers.

Schedule

  • Full Moon Sunday 21 February 16:00 – Welcome & class
  • Monday–Saturday 07:00 and 16:00 – Classes
  • Saturday 27 February 19:00 – Farewell gathering

The classes will be held in the Yoga Pavilion at COMO Uma Ubud Jalan Raya Sanggingan, Banjar Lungsiakan, Kedawatan, Ubud, Gianyar.

Booking Accommodation

You are also welcome to find accommodation outside the Como but please ensure to arrive punctually before each class.

Fee of US$1,580 includes

  • Tuition
  • Refeshments (fruit, juices, coffee/tea) after each morning class at Uma Bar
  • Vegetarian canapes and a ‘farewell’ mocktail after our last class together

  • Daily Brunch six days (see note below) US$130. This is already included for Como Uma Ubud residents.

Note
If you choose to stay outside the COMO you may like to join those at COMO for the main meal of the day – a buffet offerings and a la carte items – late morning at Kemiri Restaurant.
This may be paid for below now or after you have decided upon your accommodation.

Each course will be designated a particular ‘Level’. It is the responsibility of the practitioner to determine, based on the description of the course and their own experience, whether or not they are suited to a particular course. If, after checking the course and the descriptions below, there is any uncertainty, kindly email us. Shadow Yoga cannot be held responsible for you purchasing a course which is not suitable for you and we regret that no refunds will be available. Levels for courses are: Open Level: suitable for all levels of yoga practitioners. Intermediate Level: proficiency with the intermediate level of asanas. Advanced Level: proficiency in Nrtta Sadhana – Pure Dance of Shiva and ability to sit in Padmasana for one hour.
Payments can be made via PayPal or Stripe (credit card). Shadow Yoga teachers receive a 10% discount on full-price courses only. This discount does not apply to retreats or in combination with other discounts.
Discounts may be offered for bookings made one month in advance of first class. Payment must be made upon booking. Check individual courses for details.

The following penalties will apply.

Courses
You are able to cancel your course registration 6 weeks prior to the commencement of the course without penalty and with a full refund.

If your cancellation is received any later, the following fees apply:

  • 4–6 weeks before the first class, a cancellation fee of 25% will be deducted.
  • 2–4 weeks before the first class, a cancellation fee of 50% will be deducted.

If your cancellation is received with 2 weeks of the commencement date, we regret we are not able to refund your payment.

Note: Your place in a course is not confirmed until your invoice is paid in full.
Payments are not able to be transferred between courses.

Retreats
Since Shadow Yoga must commit to retreat dates so far in advance and pay deposits etc the policy is slightly different.

If your cancellation is received:

  • More than 3 months prior – full refund
  • 8–12 weeks before the arrival date, a cancellation fee of 25% will be deducted
  • 4–8 weeks prior, a cancellation fee of 50% will will be deducted
  • Less than 4 weeks prior – no refund will be available

Check In & Check Out

COMO Uma Ubud requests that guests check in after 14:00 on day of arrival and check out by 11:00 on day of departure.
Any early check in or late check out request will be an additional charges and subject to the availability to be confirmed one day prior to arrival.

First payment of 50% of the total invoice to be paid upon making the reservation
Balance Payment to be paid 30 days prior to the arrival date.
Other expenses will be charged upon checkout

Cancellation Policy
  • Cancellations made from the time of reservation up to 61 days prior to arrival will be subject to a 30% charge of the total invoice.
  • Cancellations made between 60 and 30 days prior to arrival will be subject to a 50% charge of the total invoice.
  • Cancellations made between 30 and 3 days prior to arrival will be subject to a 90% charge of the total invoice.
  • Late arrivals, no-shows, and early departures will be charged 100% of the total invoice.
  • All cancellations must be received in writing by the hotel or its authorised representative.

Meditations of the Thunder Dragon (Taranyali Dhyanam)

with Sundernath

Over the past twenty years, we have introduced and taught all the preparatory practices required to cultivate the subtle energy and initiate the gathering of vital power that leads to the spontaneous or natural state of Sahajavasta which is the highest peak of meditation.

These practices and technical tools were laid out in Sundernath’s book Taranyali Tridha Dhyanam in the chapters on Krantam and Kriya. In the last chapter, he introduces the principles and characteristics of the final phase to which they lead – the acquisition of Shambhavi Mudra. These properties can be summed up in the term prasādājñā which implies that this mudra has a double nature – Rudra Shakti, the command of authority for the removal of impurities and Kundalini Shakti, the command of grace. When these two energies are drawn together into a single point the portal of transmission is opened. In this explanation I gave enough for genuine seekers to gain some sense of the path ahead and the demands that it would make.

The time has come to teach those individuals who are suitably prepared and open, by practical steps and in a systematic manner, the complete process through to this final stage.

This will be undertaken in four stages as follows:

  1. The Sheathing of Thunder and Lightning
  2. Stabilising the Thunder and Lightning
  3. Opening the Sky and Flooding
  4. The Arousal of Hamsah – the Anahata Nad, (the unstruck sound of the heart).

Each stage will consist of three-weekend workshops, each weekend consisting of three sessions. Between these stages, the students will be given suitable time to practice and absorb what they have learned before proceeding further.
